Most people have never even thought about it. The only time we do is if a pipe bursts underground, a digger goes through a pipe or you’ve got tradespeople onsite and they need it turned off in a hurry. You’ll usually find it on the front perimeter of your section closest to the street front. If you’ve got vegetation along your boundary you may have to get in amongst it to find it. Look for a square plastic box visible on the ground usually painted blue. Take the cover off and make sure you know which way to turn the tap if you need to. A good way to remember is the phrase “righty tighty”(turn it right to turn off). While you’re at it you might want to clear access so that you can get to it in a hurry, and make sure the rest of the family know where it is also.
